Tun M
I rarely reads about bibliography or stories behind any events may it be economics, political issues, environment or anything..what i read is more about family, kids, leisure, holidays, novel (sometimes..)..and news of course..
but today, i searched for personal finance management and how to reduce debt.. yup got some info from pakdi.net ..he's a famous islamic finacial advisors..but that;s not what i'm about to spilled out today.. of all articles i read today on this subject, i read DAWN RAID PROJECT BY TUN M..
as usual, uncle google helps a lot..search for this project and yes...and i'm proud to tell you all about this..not sure if you guys heard of it..but this is my first time..it is a project after 2 months swore as prime minister, Tun M assigned 4 Malaysians to do intensive research on Britain's law. Why?? because he determined to take back what is belong to Malaysia. Sime Darby, Golden Hope and Guthrie. Its true that these companies were originally from foreigners whom bought our land and work it as agriculture plantation. once they leave these land were belong to Malaya. Britain took over the whole asset and refuse to sell it to our people at that time.
Therefore, Tun M committed to getting back what's once belong to us.. after intensive research done, he initiated the project. What he did was, he bought the shares of these companies at dawn. before the stock exchange was open. this is because the selling price during opening is much lower before the stock exchange opens. it was said that ASN was the backbone of this project. The pool of money from ASN account were used to buy back the share with additional RM36 billion..so technically, the money used from ASN was merely a token to gain bigger asset. all the lands owned by these companies were automatically belongs to Malaysia and none was left for Britain. This project create massive coverage during the year 1981 and it was known DAWN RAID PROJECT.
Another achievement is that the story behind Petronas penetration into Sudan market of oil and gas. in 1988 Sudan was developing and had offer to countries who are able to help them tap into their oil reserves. US was the first to come in and did a research on the oil but said that Sudan's oil was not valuable to invest. Then the brave Tun M encourage Petronas to tap in. However, US blockage the international water near Sudan to avoid Petronas from coming to Sudan. And US would declare war it we enter Sudan. At the same time, Tun M take China on board to join venture in the research and US gave in. Surprisingly, Petronas found a pool of quality oil in Sudan and make agreement with Sudan. Standard agreement would be to give 70% of profit to the company and 30% to the country, but Petronas gave 85% profit to Sudan while 15% for Petronas. However, out of 85%, only 25% were in terms of monetary while the balance will be spent towards developing Sudan in areas such as education, infrastructure..and township..no wonder Sudan is synonim to Malaysia because of all the development done by our company in helping them to build their country. it is a good and very big deed.. worth mentioning..
And this all happens because of Tun M..although some people may label him as dictator and questioning his visions.. I salute him and i'm highly respect and honoured of what he had done to our country internally and globally..Nobody is perfect and to find that perfect person is like finding a diamond in a hills of sand..(ha ha ha..my own proverb..) it's not about corruption, nepotisme or misconduct..but it's about what you can give to the country and make an impact to humanity as a whole.. if you are able to quantify for other's misconduct or wrong behavior, try asking yourself, what have you done to the country so far??... i bet the answer is no..
just think just because we pay a little amount of tax, enable us to critisize the leaders or management, think again..even the smallest organization had corruption problems..so Listen..Listen..Listen..ha ha ha..
All and all.. i love my country and hate seeing people fight for something that they think other people do it wrong and they did it right..but actually they did it wrong too...ha ha ha..This is merely a writing to express my biggest gratitude to Tun M for initiating this project and take back what is rightfully ours. I can never ever have the gut to do it.
