Sumayyah Vs. Dhiyaa
Yes.. Dhiyaa is my littler princess name..the only princess..i've been hoping since before marriage to have a pair of kids..a boy and a girl..alhamdulilah. Allah has granted it. it is the MOST precious gift and me with my husband are fully responsible to care for them forever. Insyallah.
back to the title of this post.. yup..earlier i've been telling people that i would like to name our daughter Sumayyah. she was a brave women in the past during the rise of Islam religion. She was forced and tortured to leave Islam. but untill the very last breath, she still hold strong t believe in Islam. i knew about this when i was in matriculation college in Seremban and at that time, the song Sumayyah was very often heard in radio and it is quite famous. I asked my collegemates about the song, and they tell me the story..since that day, i wanted to named my future daughter so that she also will be as brave as Sumayyah and holds strong believe in Islam.
However, at the very last minute of my pregnancy, i just knew about why my family was unhappy about giving the name sumayyah. no heart feelings or no harm to other people or what-so-ever. my younger sister had a "kakak angkat" (macamlah xde kakak sendiri kan..x paham btul ngn budak skrg)..so her name is Sumayyah. Sadly she was OKU due to mental illness. she was fine, nice looking person and looks like very normal..but she had a mental problem that it occurs to me that it reaches the maximum level of tolerance among my family member..hahaha..nothing serious..my family have been patience all this while knowing that she is OKU. but to a limit where she searched the entire house for her 'mangga' magazine..eventhough my sister told her that it was not here.. my family are ok with her, but because they don't want to remember the many incidents happen related to Sumayyah, therefore they were unhappy with the name.. hahaha..ok
So about 2 days before i went to labour room, me and abang searched for another alternative name..we need it fast..i wasn't thinking about the labour yet, so ok just browsing the book for babies name in Islam..(a must have book for expecting parents)..several names comes up and sounds nice. We prefer a short, one-word, and meaningful name. its tough i would say..Iman, humaira etc..but when it comes to Dhiyaa, me and husband just thought, this is nice.. on top of that the meaning is ray of lights.. so there you go..a simple story about how we get our little princess name.
sekian, terima kasih.
p.s: sejuk hati setiap kali pandang muka anak-anak tidur..
